I am pleased to have the opportunity of furnishing Mr. Russ Painter with a recommendation for employment or hire. As President of Technology Management Professionals, Inc. and former direct supervisor, I have worked with Russ for over 12 years in his position as R&D Software Engineer and Consultant. I find him to be a willing and tireless worker with an excellent sense of responsibility. He accepts difficult assignments with enthusiasm and determination resulting in a job well done.

As the previous owner of Estimation, Inc., I hired Mr. Painter in September 1992 to become part of our growing software development effort. Russ became one of the key development members to create a software portfolio geared for construction industry. After acquiring another software business in the late 90’s, Mr. Painter became instrumental in establishing a remote development office in Ireland . This bridged the technology gap between the US and UK groups. He worked on creating a development environment that embraced Microsoft development tools using Visual C++, VB, Source Safe, etc. and Borland C++ Builder. He was instrumental in leading the development effort in migrating a proprietary database engine to MS Access and MS SQL Server.

Mr. Painter and I have worked together as independent consultants for Estimation, Inc. in the last several years. Recently, we have collaborated on developing new On Demand technology using; XML to deliver e-commerce transactions, MS SQL server for retrieval and historical information management, and RSS as the transport mechanism to deliver content to intelligent desktop applications.

Mr. Painter has a gift for creating software applications and a real intuitive nature when it comes to developing the end user’s interface. He has developed software applications that have in excess of 20,000 users actively using the software everyday. His attention to detail, quality control and reliability are outstanding. Whenever needed, he has coordinated web conferences to facilitate development or technical meetings to solve any outstanding issues. As a consultant, he has continually communicated with all parties involved in a project.

Russ continually keeps up with technology and is proficient in use of the latest development tools and techniques. I would recommend him for employment or as an independent consultant without reservation.
